Hanover College EPP believes in actual clinical practice in real schools with real K-12 students. This begins in our gateway course for First Year and Sophomore students and continues to increase through the curriculum resulting in a full time student teaching assignment for successful candidates. The EDU faculty understands that this travel can be difficult for some students without personal modes of transportation and advises Education students to let the course instructor know of these challenges as soon as possible. Efforts will be made by the instructor to help with transportation issues.,
Additionally, there may be other options for those students without a vehicle or who do not drive.
Low cost transportation can be arranged in advance using the CATCH A RIDE network. Information can be found at this website https://www.lifetime-resources.org/catch-a-ride
SPEEDY CAB taxi service can be reached at 812-274-0911 or 812-265-3337.
We are not aware that Uber or Lyft has service in this area. Do not accept rides with people not known to you.
Our students SAFETY is a foremost priority.
Be sure to contact the local school personnel or mentor teacher if you find yourself without transportation and unable to be on time for field work. Everyone has things happen but it is up to you to handle the issue like a professional.
Communication and planning are the most important aspects of professionalism.
