STUDENT TEACHING AND DECISION POINT 3 - SENIORS

The Student Teaching Handbook includes dates, assignments, dress code, and expectations for our Student Teachers, Mentor Teachers, and Student Teacher Supervisors.

Proof of current academic year membership must be uploaded into the student teaching assignments in Lumivero ELC prior to the first day of student teaching.

Background Check

Student teachers are required to complete the background process for the school corporation of their placement. Student teachers will need to request a completed background check report from their school corp to upload to ELC. If none are required or available to the student teacher, candidates must obtain and upload a current AY Safe Hiring Solutions background check report in ELC. See Safe Hiring Background Checks on the menu at left.

Decision Point 3 Presentation and Interview

Dr. Dustin Bailey is the coordinator of Decision Point 3 which takes place at the end of the student teaching term (November for Fall and April for Winter). DP 3 candidates will create an overview of their student teaching experience via a narrated PowerPoint Presentation that follows the DP 3 rubric.  The rubric for the evaluators is assigned in the DP 3 Assignments in ELC.  There is a pdf of the ELC rubric linked below.

After the DP 3 Presentation is submitted in ELC, candidates will be advised to email a link to their evaluators and to assign their DP 3 Interview Rubrics to these scorers in ELC. There will be an IN PERSON interview with your DP 3 Evaluators in Newby Hall.

PLEASE NOTE THAT CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF A PASSING THE APPROPRIATE ETS PRAXIS EXAM IN PEDAGOGY AS WELL AS COMPLETION OF EVERY ASSIGNMENT IN THE THEIR ELC DECISION POINT 3 ASSIGNMENTS IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED A PROGRAM COMPLETER FOR HANOVER COLLEGE CERTIFICATION AND LICENSING.
