The Spicer Phillips Scholarship provides monetary assistance for education candidates to gain experience in teaching in an urban school, whether that is for the full student teaching assignment of 14 weeks in Louisville, KY; Indianapolis, IN; Cincinnati, OH; or via a student teaching internship through The Philadelphia Center OR for a shorter three day Urban Experience for those candidates completing their student teaching assignments locally. Rent assistance is not available if you are living with a family member. All upcoming Student Teachers should complete the application by the end of their junior year. The Spicer Phillips Grant also can provide monetary assistance for TB tests for students working in the Juvenile Detention Facility, and for the CASA and CORE exams if criteria set by the Office of Financial Aid is met. For questions, please contact Dr. Dustin Bailey at bailey@hanover.edu or Mrs. Cheryl Torline at torline@hanover.edu
